Food Safety

Gambles is committed to providing safe food with the highest quality produce, storage, and distribution services that meets or exceeds customer and regulatory requirements.

Since 2010, Gambles Produce has established and maintained a HACCP-based food safety program. In 2018, our Distribution Centre became certified under the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) system, a benchmarked standard of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and in 2019, our Ontario Food Terminal location became HACCP certified. Rigorous vendor approval program ensuring our vendors across the globe meets Canadian food safety and quality standards

In-house knowledge quality control team, to verify all inbound loads meet or exceed quality grade standards

Food safety audits performed for all 3rd party storage, packaging or vendors supplying Go Fresh product

Forward and backwards traceability able to identify the affected lot, contain it and minimize the impact to the industry, the customer, and the consumer in case of recall

Employees are provided with resources which they require to understand and be competent in applying food safety practices

Food safety practices and objectives are reviewed on a continuous basis to ensure they continue to reflect our commitment to keep up to date with customer and legislative requirements
