Job description

The Operations Clerk will report directly to the Clerical Manager. This position will be accountable for performing daily administrative and clerical activities of the Shipping, Receiving, and Transportation departments. This individual will work primarily out of the Dwight Warehouse location but will require the ability to travel to both locations regularly. Although the primary schedule for this individual is 40 hours per week, our ideal candidate can work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the business which may include occasional evenings and weekends. The intended schedule for this role is Sunday – Thursday, 3am – 11am or Friday to Sunday, 3am – 1pm. Responsibilities
  • Preparing all shipping and receiving documents.
  • Print all labels as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate inventories of all shipping and receiving supplies.
  • Providing support to the transportation team by answering and addressing driver’ and customers’ delivery questions, confirming appointments, and reinforcing instructions for special delivery assignments.
  • Collaborating with warehouse staff to ensure orders are filled efficiently and on time.
  • Interfacing with clients and vendors to schedule appointments and address vendor issues.
  • Maintain a filing system for shipping and receiving records.
  • Inventory control and general warehouse tasks when needed.
  • All projects and tasks assigned by manager.
Candidate Requirements Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least six (6) months previous experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a clerical role preferred

Job Description The Accounting Assistant will report directly to Controller. This position is responsible for supporting the Accounting/Finance team and assisting the day-to-day functions of the department. Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory compliance.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams for various responsibilities included but not limited to:
    • Review and verify vendor invoices and payment requests
    • Match receiving documents with invoices with accuracy and completeness
    • Reconcile accounts payable transactions
    • Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
    • Data Entry of invoices in ERP system, for further payment processing
    • Assist with AR credit note process.
    • Assist AR with payment application and maintenance of customer requests and requirements for timely payment collections.
  • Validating proof of deliveries
  • Sorting and scanning of various accounting paperwork for record keeping purposes
  • Communicate issues and concerns on paperwork with internal teams via email, telephone, or personally.
  • Maintains files for the entire department so they remain up to date and easily accessible.
  • Assist with Finance audit responsibilities to include validation of entry into ERP system and issuance of vendor payments.
  • Prepare or assist with regular or ad hoc reports as required.
Candidate Requirements Qualifications:
  • Minimum of high school education, while a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Please note that an Excel proficiency test may be conducted during the interview process.
  • Previous work in an Accounting or Finance team is considered an asset.

  • Process incoming EDI (electronic) orders in the ERP system to prepare them for warehouse picking. Communicate with customers regarding order status, delivery timelines, product shortages, and substitutions.
  • Update product allocations and pricing through internal systems.
  • Monitor and audit inventor, report quality concerns and discrepancies to Operations and Sales.
  • Generate shipping labels and invoices using the ERP system.
  • Perform system receiving by accurately entering product information when shipments arrive.
  • Prepare purchase orders, invoices and driver manifests as needed.
  • Perform various operational clerical tasks, including entering customer orders, creating and verifying transfer loads, processing internal product disposition credits, and assisting customers with invoice reprints and proof of delivery (POD) requests.
  • Answer inbound calls from carriers and customer to provide updates on dispatch and orders.
  • Communicate with carriers.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

  • Post-secondary education in a business, supply chain or management program or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a manager or supervisor in foodservice/wholesale/retail distribution

  • Experience in graphic and web design
  • Demonstrated content writing skills
  • Thorough understanding of a wide range of computer programs and web platforms including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress an asset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel occasionally for company events

This position will be responsible for safe delivery of Gambles produce to customers around the GTA and Ontario. Upon delivery, drivers unload the product as well as act as representatives of Gambles when interacting with our customers. This individual will work primarily out of the Dwight Warehouse location but will require the ability to travel to both locations regularly. Your schedule will be mostly weekends; however, flexibility is required. Anticipated shifts will begin in the early mornings and finish in the late afternoons – a typical work week would consist of 20-30 hours, but this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.   Responsibilities
  • Safe and timely delivery of Gambles produce to customers around the GTA and Ontario
  • Safe handling of the equipment (Manual Trucks, Tractor & Trailer)
  • Loading and unloading of produce from truck
  • Reporting of any food safety or quality issues to supervisors in accordance with our Food Safety policies
  • Diligently complete paperwork, including driver’s logbook and bills of lading
  Candidate Requirements Qualifications:
  • Drivers are required to complete a Gambles Drive Test
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • Must have a valid DZ and/or AZ driver’s license (Driver’s License Class A, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement)
  • Must be able to drive manual trucks
  • Some operational areas will require Material Handling Equipment certification
  • Reefer equipment experience an asset

This individual will work primarily out of the 302 Dwight Avenue location but will require the ability to travel to our Ontario Food Terminal location from time to time. Although the primary schedule for this individual is 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, our ideal candidate can work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the business which may include occasional evenings and weekends.   Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory compliance
  • Finance audit responsibilities to include validation of payables entry into ERP system and review of approvals.
  • Communicate issues and concerns on paperwork with internal teams via email, telephone, or personally
  • Validate and review new/changes to vendor setup.
  • Issuance of vendor payments such as Cheques; Wire payments; ACH Direct Deposits.
  • Communicate to suppliers on payment processing.
  • Assist in the review and reconciliation online accounts receivable payments with ERP payment posting.
  • Assist with Daily/Weekly/Monthly regular and analytical reports as required
  • Assist with yearend audit process as required
  • Assist Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams for various backup responsibilities to potentially include but not limited to:
    • Matching of AP documents to vendor receiving’s
    • Assist with AR invoicing and credit note process
    • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Perform other duties as required and requested
Candidate Requirements Qualifications:
  • Minimum of high school education, some university or college would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel – Note: an excel test may be performed as part of the interview process
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in an Accounting or Finance team is required
  • Previous experience with using an ERP is desirable

  • Take the lead on minimizing shrinkage/spoilage of fresh fruits and vegetables; work with buyers on quality and quantity issues; and lead time for orders
  • Using historical information, discuss strategies with our buyers to help communicate favorable sales opportunities to sales groups
  Candidate Requirements Qualifications:
  • Strong analytics background, with an intermediate level of Excel
  • Entrepreneurial spirited, business background and strength with numbers
  • Very good computer skills with previous experience using an ERP system
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office 365
  • College diploma or University degree would be an asset
